EDMONTON – Yesterday, Flair Airlines (F8), Canada’s only independent low-cost carrier, celebrated the announcement of its 20th destination. F8’s announcement of non-stop service to Grande Prairie, a city in northwest Alberta within the southern portion of an area known as Peace River Country. The service departs from Vancouver and Toronto.

“Canadians are tired of being gouged for air travel and Flair is excited to bring our low fares to a fourth Alberta market,” says Garth Lund, Chief Commercial Officer. “Flair continues to deliver tremendous value to underserved communities where restoring affordable regional travel will help reignite the Canadian economy.”

The twice-weekly service is expected to begin on August 1, 2021. Both routes will be operated on Wednesdays and Sundays in the afternoon. The route is expected to be operated using their new Boeing 737-8 aircraft alongside its existing fleet of Boeing 737-800NG aircraft.

The route offers direct service to international hubs without the need to connect through one of Alberta’s major airports.
